Sado Al-Jarf is a professor of ELT and translation at the College of Languages and Translation, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She has been teaching
ESL, translation and linguistics courses for undergraduate students and ESP courses for graduate students for 18 years. Her
areas of interests are: Use of technology in language teaching and learning, reading curriculum design, reading in ESL and
spelling and translation error analysis. She has published 4 books and more than 65 journal articles. She has given 100
presentations and attended more than 150 conferences in the USA, UK, Italy, France, Germany, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Norway,
Spain, Greece, Poland, Ukraine, Turkey, North Cyprus, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iran, Morocco, UAE, Bahrain,
Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia and is a member of twenty two national and international professional organizations.
Many of her results results have been cited in the internationa media and by many internet websites. For example, the results
of her "Global Dimension in Saudi History Textbooks" paper appeared in more than 20 newspapers worldwide including
World Trubune, Education Guardian, Opinion Journal, Le Monde, Gulf Wire Digest, Free Republic, the Straits Times, Arab News, Imra, Saudi-US Relations Information Service, and others and her "The Effects of Online Instruction on Struggling ESL
College Writers" was also cited by many authors and was the subject of many research reviews.
